Student Newspaper, Radio & TV
LethbridgeCampusMedia.ca is an education-based media group produced by second-year students in the Digital Communications and Media program at Lethbridge College. LethbridgeCampusMedia.ca encompasses The Endeavour, a bi-weekly newspaper; The Kodiak, an online radio station and eNews, a video news program.
The Endeavour newspaper, run by the Digital Communications and Media students, is published 10 times during the fall and winter semesters and is also available online at LethbridgeCampusMedia.ca. The newspaper reports on campus news while providing hand-on training for digital journalism students. Media production and advertising students design ads and pages, organize promotions and sell advertising offering special packages which include radio, video and online opportunities.
CRLC The Kodiak, operated by Digital Communications and Media students, streams on the internet at LethbridgeCampusMedia.ca and broadcasts on a closed circuit on campus. The station plays a mix of contemporary music formats, along with news and feature programming. The station operates continuously during the fall and winter semesters. Students are given hands-on training, covering all aspects of the radio station’s operation, from news to radio personalities and commercial writing.
Video News and Webcasting
eNews, produced by the Digital Communications and Media students, is a regular newscast which focuses on events happening on and around campus. Students are also responsible for webcasting select Kodiaks Athletics games. All aspects of broadcasting a live sports event are incorporated; this includes play-by-play announcing, camera operation, directing and production for basketball and volleyball games. All video content is available to watch through LethbridgeCampusMedia.ca. In addition, new programs involving the Digital Communications and Media students can be seen on Lethbridge Shaw television.
