Accessibility Services

Our Accessibility Services office assists prospective and current students with disabilities who identify special needs and require academic accommodations. We support students with physical or learning disabilities, sensory impairments, mental health issues, or chronic medical conditions.

Our experts can support you through various processes, including

  • guiding you through the college application process;
  • reviewing your disability documentation;
  • providing alternate testing arrangements;
  • securing funding for individualized disability-related supports;
  • screening for learning disabilities; and
  • authorizing reduced course loads.

Once you are a student, Accessibility Services will authorize and coordinate appropriate academic supports and training, including

  • classroom and exam accommodations, learning strategies, assistive technologies, tutoring, alternate formats, and note-taking support;
  • communicating with your instructors about accommodation requests;
  • providing disability counseling; and
  • making referrals to other campus and/or community supports

Students are encouraged to contact the office early in the application process to ensure disability-related funds and supports are in place when classes begin. To access supports, you must provide current documentation with diagnosis (completed within the last 5 years). If you have never been diagnosed, screenings and assessment can be arranged and supports put in place while pursuing the necessary documentation.  You will be asked to review your supports with Accessibility Services each semester to ensure the currency and appropriateness of the supports.

To book an appointment to discuss how you might access our services, please contact the Accessibility Services office.
