Q. What does it cost to advertise employment opportunities through Career Centre at Lethbridge College?
A. Nothing. All ads are free of cost.
Q. Must we have a closing date on our job ad? We are often looking for good people.
A. Yes. Our service requires that you provide us with a closing date and that it be within one month of the posting date. If the job advertisement closes and you have been unsuccessful in filling the specified vacancy (or vacancies), you may extend the deadline on the ad for up to one more month. If, on the other hand, you have been able to fill the vacancy (or vacancies) but new positions come open in the future, you should create a new ad or copy the inactive one so our database has an accurate recording of the number of vacancies that have become available in each industry.
Q. How and where will our employment opportunities be advertised?
A. Employers are encouraged to post their own job adss. Each position should have a separate ad. From our database we generate posters for five job boards around campus, classified ads for the student newspaper (September to April), and email announcements of the opportunities for faculty and students in relevant programs.
Q. Does Career Centre advertise self-employment and business opportunities for students and graduates?
A. Only employment opportunities with a guaranteed wage or salary are advertised through our database. Self-employment opportunities, business opportunities, and commission-only careers may be advertised in our "Entrepreneurial Opportunities" binder. In compliance with Lethbridge College policy, The Works will not advertise any opportunity which requires a purchase or monetary investment by the student/graduate.
Massage Therapy is our only credit program with positions that are almost always paid as commission-only, we will make an exception for those postings. However, if the work is still entrepreneurial in that it requires an investment in the business or a monthly rental fee, then the usual procedures apply.
You may wish to purchase an ad with the student newspaper, The Endeavour. Contact them at endeavourads@lethbridgecollege.ab.ca or Phone:403-320-3301.
If you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
Q. Our job ad has graphics that we wish to display. Can they go into our web-based ad?
A. Our database accepts only text. You may provide a link to a web page that can be included with your ad. If you have a poster that you would like to display on bulletin boards, we will do so for you, space allowing.
Q. What additional advertising may we do on campus?
A. You may purchase a print ad in the student newspaper, The Endeavour. Call them at 403-320-3301.
Q. May we post our own job ads in your database?
A. Employers are encouraged to post their own job ads.
Q. We are a third-party agency who is recruiting staff for an organization that cannot be named? May we use your services?
A. Please contact Career Centre with details of the employment opportunity. In compliance with the Third Party Recruiter Policy of the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE), the name of the employer must be known to Career Centre, however we will hold it in confidence and not release it to anyone. We cannot provide third-party recruiters with access to our database or resume files.
Q. We are in a hurry to receive applications. We would prefer to receive referrals rather than advertising. Can you help?
A. Yes. Please contact us with information about the opportunity. We will search our database for resumes of qualified candidates on your behalf.
Q. May we advertise volunteer opportunities through Career Centre?
A. Yes, not-for-profit organizations may advertise volunteer opportunities through Career Centre.
Q. We are interested in hosting a Lethbridge College student for a practicum. Who do we contact?

A. Its free!
Q. How may we meet students in-person to promote opportunities at our organization?
