“HIT IT UP!!! FIRST WEEK BACK”

Oohh the first week back is always the most exciting!!!!! Everyone is excited to be here, for many they are returning to their studies and for the other bunch they are embarking on a new journey. For many new and returning students it is the never ending question…what can I do my first week back????? Well I am going to tell you about all the events that you should defiantly be hitting up!

Monday September 6^th-

• Many would think that the college is closed on this holiday…well for those of you who thought that, you thought wrong! The college is open from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. So come on down get your student ID card from the Library, come and get all your books and supplies from the Book Store, go and opt out of Health and Dental if you need to at the Student’s Association, and join us for a tour in Centre Core at 11 AM or 1 PM.

Tuesday September 7^th-

• Tuesday is a very exciting day indeed it is the day of College Life 101 Orientation For New Students Sponsored by ATB Financial. Check-in starts at 9 AM down in the Physical Education Building by the big brown Kodiak bear. Be sure before heading into the gym (where your mind will be blown by all the exciting things that are going to be going on) to grab a coffee or fill up your Lethbridge College water bottles from in your Orientation Packages. And yes you can just fill them right up, because on Friday I was part of the lucky team that got to wash out all 500 water bottles :). You must now understand how much we care about all you new students!
• Also make sure you don’t miss Comic Relief Night in the Cave put on by our very own LCSA. They are bringing in a hypnotist, and if ya’ll are anything like me and enjoy people making fools out of themselves then you don't want to miss it!

Wednesday September 8^th-

• First day of Orientation To The Community. This is an event where we bring in all sorts of different businesses from around the city and they set up tables to showcase what their business is. Make sure to walk through the Centre Core where they all will be set up you can; grab a form to get your very own Costco Membership, pick a financial institution to open a student account at, sample pizza from some of the best places in town, and just grab a whole whack of coupons and other freebies.
•  AND make sure you don’t miss the out-door movie night located at 30^th Ave Residence and hosted by our very own LSCA.

Thursday September 9^th-

• The second day of Orientation To The Community and this day you will be able to see, join, and or volunteer for some of the local non-profit organizations. Remember students not only does volunteering make you feel good for helping out it also looks GREAT on a resume!!!
• Thursday night is also RAVE IN THE CAVE a tight and bright party hosted by our LCSA. Now I know I’m not the only one who looks for any excuse to wear spandex, especially when it can be in fluorescent colours!!!!

Friday September 10^th-

• Club Day here at Lethbridge College, so come on down and check it out! Join a club or start your own it is the perfect way to get involved and meet new people.
• Freebie Friday put on LCSA so make sure you go and find them to pick up some free stuff!!!

Saturday September 11^th-

• Now for all you small town hick kids and for all you country folk Boss Hogs Country Saloon is where you want to be! For a little country music, some dancing (with people that actually know how to dance and not just grind up on whatever is behind them), goodtimes, and countless awesome memories. It has been ‘our spot’ for the last two years and is nothing but a great time, so put on your cowboy boots, a nice big buckle and head on down!
