LAW-1191 Enforcement Law

This comprehensive law course will introduce learners to the language and structure of statutes and their practical application in policing duties. Learners will be able to define various sources and types of law and demonstrate correct application of each. This course will examine the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, paying particular attention to those sections most relevant to law enforcement. Learners will study the theory behind arrest, release, search procedures, and crimes against persons and property. Learners will engage in practical exercises, including practice-based scenarios and simulated court proceedings. Not available for supplemental. Not available for Prior Learning Assessment.
