Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Education

Enhance your career

As a professional, you can begin supporting the growing number of families living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). As the only program of its kind in Canada, our certificate is designed for people in the field, and those who aspire towards careers in education, health care, disability services, criminal justice and other human service areas providing services to clients living with FASD.

FASD Education is right for you if you:

  • are able to remain calm in stressful situations
  • have a positive, flexible attitude
  • have problem-solving skills
  • possess decision-making skills
  • have an interest in helping people resolve problems
  • can work independently and as part of a team.

Learning for life

As you complete the program through distance learning at your own pace, you will learn you about the many aspects of FASD, including prevention, intervention strategies and diagnosis. Through our practicum courses, you will use your knowledge in vital ways to support those living with FASD. We also offer a fast-track program for those with degrees or diplomas; you may be given credit for six of the 17 courses.
