Digital Communications and Media

Lethbridge College’s Digital Communications and Media program reflects the evolution of media and communication industries and prepares you to work for TV and radio broadcasters, newspapers, magazines and corporations, or as an entrepreneur or freelancer working in the media anywhere in the world.

After completing a common first year of courses, you can choose to focus on Digital Journalism to learn how to create and deliver news content for broadcast, print and mobile while employing innovative online and social media strategies. Or, you can choose to focus on Media Production and Advertising to engage audiences by taking great ideas and creatively utilizing audio, video and graphic design to share them with the rest of the world.

Working with outstanding instructors and industry partners, you’ll graduate with the knowledge and experience needed to succeed in any media environment. You’ll be able to generate content for all mediums and will have experience meeting strict deadlines, conducting research and presenting balanced, objective stories. Diploma in Digital Communications and Media

There is a required practicum component to this program. The College dictates the legal terms and conditions governing the practicum experience. Failure by the student to accept by way of legal contract and abide by these terms and conditions will result in non-completion of the program.

You will take the skills you’ve acquired and enhance them through a 150-hour practicum experience within the industry. Learn in the field working with professionals who will mentor you through the course.

The Digital Communications and Media program requires you to purchase a mobile learning device from Lethbridge College just before classes start in September. • Students in this program are required to purchase a mobile learning device from the college. Check your admissions letter for more details or contact your program. For Digital Communications and Media the Mac Book Pro total fee is $1,715 and the $100 access fee. In the second year of this program only the access fee will be charged. These costs are not covered by government student loans, and are subject to change.
• Students will be charged a medical/dental benefit fee unless they opt out by demonstrating alternative coverage prior to the end of the first week of class.
• International students are charged three times the tuition fee of their particular program and the same (other) fees as domestic students.
• Costs for supplies may vary considerably depending on what students already have or where they purchased their supplies; cost provided is on the moderately high end.
