Correctional Studies Diploma

Our intensive, two-year diploma will prepare you for a career in the correctional system, aiding individual offenders and those in conflict with the law in completing their sentences and returning to society. Because of the growing need, you may also have the opportunity to do justice working with young offenders as well. You’ll gain a well-balanced understanding of human relations, correctional law, crisis resolution and more as you receive the hands-on experience necessary to achieve success in this important industry. As an added bonus, all of our courses are available through distance learning on a full- or part-time basis to suit your pace and lifestyle.

Correctional Studies is right for you if you:

  • possess the leadership and interpersonal skills required to establish and maintain positive relationships with different types of people
  • have the ability to make quick and sound decisions
  • are able to work effectively as part of a team
  •  have good oral and written communication skills
  • are in good physical condition.

In just two years, you’ll have the knowledge and understanding necessary to help individuals make a change and rehabilitate their lives. You will also have a wealth of practical knowledge through the completion of practicums in real correctional environments. And, should you choose to expand your knowledge of this challenging field, upon completion of your diploma, you qualify for entry into the third year of our Bachelor of Applied Arts in Correctional Studies.
