BUS-278 Industrial & Labour Relations

This course places emphasis on the practical application of basic skills required to manage either in unionized workplaces or those that might be faced with a certification application. Lectures, readings, case studies, simulations, and assignments will serve to acquaint students with the structure and functioning of the Canadian industrial relations system, basic employment law concepts, the union certification process, negotiation and administration of collective agreements, strikes and dispute resolution.
