Not sure what to do with your passion for vehicles? Look no further than the Automotive Systems program to get you on the road to an exciting career in an area you’ll love. Our one-year certificate will give you a practical understanding of automobiles/trucks and what makes them tick. From simple components to advanced computerized vehicle systems, you’ll learn it all.  We’ll give you the hands-on experience you need working in our shops using the latest tools and equipment, offering you a first-hand look at this intriguing field.

Automotive Systems is right for you if you:

  • can keep up to date with changing technology
  • can work alone or as part of a team.

Put your career in high-gear

In no time, you’ll find yourself at the heart of the action, repairing a variety of automotives from shop units to customers’ vehicles. You can even ‘soup up’ your vehicle in our shop. You’ll be knowledgeable of a variety of concepts, including drive trains, directional control systems and much more.

New students are accepted into the Automotive Systems program for the Fall term only with a late August program start date.
Certificate in Automotive Systems

There is a required practicum component to this program. The College dictates the legal terms and conditions governing the practicum experience. Failure by the student to accept by way of legal contract and abide by these terms and conditions will result in non-completion of the program.

Students who successfully complete the Automotive Systems one-year certificate program are eligible to write their first and second year apprenticeship exams and earn 300 hours towards first period work experience and 300 hours towards second period work experience of the Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship program.

• Students will be charged a medical/dental benefit fee unless they opt out by demonstrating alternative coverage prior to the end of the first week of class.
• International students are charged three times the tuition fee of their particular program and the same (other) fees as domestic students.
• Costs for supplies may vary considerably depending on what students already have or where they purchased their supplies; cost provided is on the moderately high end.
