Our Automotive Systems certificate is your vehicle to the automotive industry with a career you’ll enjoy. Upon successful completion of the program, you will:

  • have knowledge of several concepts, including:
    • drive trains
    • directional control systems
    • automotive electrical systems
    • performance projects.
  • possess an understanding of automotive technology
  • be eligible to write first- and second-year apprenticeship exams in Automotive Service Technician.

You will be able to:

  • diagnose problems and repair wide range of vehicles
  • use testing equipment, take the vehicle for a test drive or refer to manufacturers' specifications and manuals
  • dismantle faulty assemblies and repair or replace worn or damaged parts
  • reassemble, adjust and test repaired mechanisms
  • provide scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications and tune-ups
  • advise customers on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements.
