Your Fish and Wildlife certificate will equip you with many diverse skills in order to be successful in this intriguing field. Upon successful completion of the program, you will:
- be knowledgeable in the practices of:
- population assessment and radio-tracking fish, waterfowl and wildlife
- habitat measurement, assessment and monitoring
- research and data collection.
You will be able to:
- confidently present collected data and research findings
- assess fish and wildlife populations
- inventory and assess habitats
- conduct environmental impact assessments
- perform field capture and handling techniques for wildlife and fish
- contribute to and evaluate fish wildlife and habitat management plans
- conduct habitat management programs
- liaise with habitat uses such as hunters, trappers, fishers and landowners
- work with wildlife researchers and collect related data (for example, conduct wildlife inventories or collect samples to assist with natural resource research)
- further your education with university-transferrable courses.
