The world of Environmental Assessment and Restoration is an exciting one which requires the know-how to handle many different tasks situations. Upon successful completion of the program, you will:

  • understand how to collect, interpret and manage environmental data
  •  have a practical understanding of law, science and various technical skills
  • be able to assess environmental disturbance and prepare prescriptions to restore them
  • know how to use the latest software and  Geographic Information System (GIS) applications.

You will be able to:

  • select and manage an audit team, which involves:
  • gathering data using questionnaires, on-site inspections, document reviews or interviews
  • examining clients' records for appropriate government permits and requirements, safety standards, maintenance and inventory control measures
  • reviewing management systems, emergency preparedness and response procedures, employee training (for compliance with corporate and government standards), environmental monitoring programs and waste management efforts
  • writing final audit reports and discuss findings and recommendations with clients
  • making presentations to directors and management
  • assisting businesses in developing environmental management plans (policies and procedures)
  • following up to ensure corrective and preventive actions in audit findings have been addressed
  • further your education with university-transferrable courses.
