Industry & Employers
Lethbridge College supports employers throughout southern Alberta as a good corporate neighbour. Our programs and training initiatives strengthen the economy of the region we serve by providing a highly educated workforce. The quality of our students is well-known throughout their fields of endeavour.
Each of our programs has an advisory council made up of experts in that field who offer guidance on matters such as curriculum and skill requirements. They are the vital link between our classrooms and the “real world.” If you would like to serve on an advisory council, please contact the relevant program office.
A main component of a Lethbridge College education is the practical experience we weave into our programs. Much of this comes through practicums which place our students in actual short-term work experiences. If you would like to provide a practicum placement for a student, please contact Career Centre at 403-320-3287. The Career Centre hosts an annual Career Conference that features over a hundred employer/program exhibits and thousands of visitors. The 2011 event wil take place in November.
Our Applied Research and Innovation office assists employers by matching them with applied research assistance. This initiative also links students with valuable learning experiences. If your business has a research requirement, we may be able to help. Contact Lorne MacGregor, director of Applied Research and Innovation.
The International Wind Energy Academy (IWEA) maintains several industry partnerships to provide the best experience and training in the Wind Turbine Technician program.
