School Programs

We offer a wide variety of programming to schools to enhance the activity levels and knowledge of both students and teachers. Our school programs include information on healthy lifestyles, physical activity, nutrition as well as a wide variety of fitness classes to keep the students and staff moving! The recent Canadian Health Measures Survey indicates that youth spend 62% of their day sedentary. The revised Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines for Children and youth state that 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per day is needed to elicit health benefits. Whereas the Canadian Health Measures Survey shows that only 7% of Canadian Youth accumulate 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity 6 days per week.

Move & Play through Physical Literacy (Ages 3 – 12)

The Be Fit For Life Network has created the Move & Play through Physical Literacy cards to assist activity leaders interested in integrating Physical Literacy into a variety of programs, activities and environments. These cards are designed to be used in a variety of applications including the home, school or community settings. Over 75 cards are included in this set, focusing on Active Start, FUNdamentals, and Learn to Train stages of the Long Term Athlete Development Model.
