T.E.F.L. (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)

TEACHING ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (TEFL) (40-hour intensive non-credit course) The field of Teaching English as a Foreign Language involves teaching English to non-English speakers outside of English-speaking countries. TEFL has grown dramatically into an interesting and exciting career as people around the world strive to become proficient in English - the international language of communication and information, education, business and trade, technology and travel. This course will provide theories of language teaching and learning, techniques for teaching speaking, listening, vocabulary, grammar and phonology communicatively. Entry Requirements: Successful teachers must be capable of using English well so proficiency equivalent to TOEFL 500 or higher is required. At the minimum, applicants must be high school graduates.
