Emergency Medical Technican Program
Didactic component of 300 theory hours on campus (Wednesday evening exam, Thursday and Friday weekly) followed by 40 hours hospital practicum and a minimum of 200 hours ambulance practicum with competency requirements that may require additional practicum hours. Practicums are full time rotations and will occur in Southern Alberta and are coordinated by the program - placement is based on grades attained in didactic component. Cost of textbooks, PDA's, additional uniforms, boots are not included in the tuition or materials fee. A list of successful applicants will be provided by the department (selection for program based on results of the EMT student assessment - the mandatory pre-requisite).
Tuition: $7,700 (non-refundable) plus texts and materials
Program length: 300 hours theory; hospital and ambulance practicum to follow
Prerequisites:
•18 years or older
•EMR, registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP)
•current CPR for health care providers
ACP registration required for practicum
•Successful completion of EMT Student Assessment
