Sign Language I

Sign Language is a generic term for different variations of sign communication. It is a method of communicating with, and for, the hearing impaired. Sign Language I is designed to enable the students to learn the basics of sign language in expressive and receptive communication. Emphasis is placed on facial expression and body coordination, a significant element of the languages. The first level focuses on personal pronouns, basic sentence structure, possessives, negatives, questions, use of tense, verbs, imperatives, numbers, and plurals. Text and study guide are extra and may be purchased at the LC Bookstore.
