About Veronica Weir

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
I’d probably move closer to my parents – so somewhere, anywhere in Europe.

Weirdest celebrity crush you’ve ever had?
When I was about 12 I fell in love with Howie Dorough off of the Backstreet Boys. I think the weirdest part is I still love all of their songs (my friends and I have sing-offs to ‘Everybody’) and I still have a crush on him.

If you won the lottery, which charity organization would you support and why?
If I won the lottery and donated funds to a charity it would be difficult to pick one so I would most likely contribute to several – cancer, MS, diabetes, Red Cross, etc.

Name a talent you wish you had.
I really wish I could do a cartwheel.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?
Something people don’t know about me is that I really don’t want to grow up, but my Dad always told me, if you haven’t grown up by the time your 50 you don’t have to.

Where are you from?
Regina, Saskatchewan

What program are you in?
Business Administration

Why did you choose Lethbridge College?
I moved here from Calgary to attend Lethbridge College in the Interior Design program and graduated in 2007. I liked the atmosphere and instructors at LC so much I decided to come back last year (2010) to get my Business Administration Diploma and then finish the degree at the University.

A New Leaf

Another year, another semester, another paged turn, whichever way you word it, it’s a new year. I enjoy the New Year because there is some uncertainty and excitement for what the next year will bring. The New Year gives people the opportunity to set out some guidelines or a path to get them on “track” in… Read more.

Tis the Season…

“ ‘Twas the night before finals And all through the college The students were praying For last minute knowledge” To be honest, I love being in school, I like my teachers and my classes but I am so happy that is December 9 and I have officially finished my classes for the semester. ‘Movember’

There are a number of ways to raise money for a cure for any type of illness. I’m sure everyone has noticed through advertisements that we are now entering into Movember (previously called November) which aims to make people more aware of prostate cancer and to raise money towards fighting it. I am always driven… Read more.

Find Your Creative Side

This summer I had the opportunity to see an incredible motivational speaker in Edmonton. Her name is Merge Gupta-Sunderji and she wrote a book called ‘Why Does the Lobster Cast Off Its Shell?” In her lecture she discussed how over time people lose their creativity and if we look at the dreams, ambitions and nature… Read more.

Playing ‘Tag’ with the Flu

I love the summer and I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to winter. It seems like in Canada we have two months of “summer” and ten months of winter and winter-look-a-like. But there sure is something about October. The air is crisp and cool, the leaves are a beautiful colour and the… Read more.

Stop & Smell The Roses

“You have four years to be irresponsible here. Relax. Work is for people with jobs. You’ll never remember class time, but you’ll remember time you wasted hanging out with your friends. So, stay out late. Go out on a Tuesday with your friends when you have a paper due Wednesday. Spend money you don’t have…. Read more.
