Every March elections are held for the new Lethbridge College Students’ Association President, Vice President Finance and Vice President Student Life positions. These positions are held from May 1- April 30th of the next year. Every October elections are held for the new student representatives for the upcoming year and these positions run from October to April.
Vice President Finance has a job highly related to payroll, money and assisting the LCSA General Manager with duties such as budgeting, signing cheques and more. The LCSA is currently looking for someone to fill this role from January to April. There are a minimum 12 office hours per week that can be set whenever work for your class schedule. We expect this person to be reliable, responsible and have the ability to balance priorities between school and the job. You must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours, as well have at least a 2.0 GPA to be considered eligible for the job.
Student Representative is a job that is still as fun, but without all the hours. In this position you can do a minimum of one office hour per week. The job will include helping the executive and staff with any required duties, helping out with events and many odd-end jobs. The position we are trying to fill is a Campus Recreation position where you assist directly with Campus Recreation’s activities and the Campus Recreation Manager, but in the end we are fine to just hire a general representative and switch others around to make our council work effectively.
Both of these jobs are great opportunities. You work when you want, and when is convenient for you! It looks great on a resume, you build work experience and it is a really fun job. The position goes from January until April so even though its a short term, you’ll gain a lot from it. If you are interested please apply at the Student Association office located in Centre Core. We are filling vacant positions, so this position will be appointed. That means no election, only interviews with the LCSA council.
Nomination packages consist of obtaining 15 signatures and a short biography about yourself. The packages are due by TOMORROW, TUESDAY THE 17TH at 4pm. Interviews will take place at the next council meeting on January 23rd at 5pm.
Even if you do not think that you could ever be in this position, I encourage you to try. It is a great learning opportunity and you meet a lot of really great people in this role. I’ve had a lot of fun in my term so far- it goes by SO fast!
Apply within and help us fill the vacant spots on the LCSA council!
