I was happy to sign up for the Pay It Forward program when I found out where the funds were going. As a former Lethbridge College student, Student Association council member and U of L student I know how important every little bit of assistance can be. Hopefully interest will continue to grow and even more funds can be raised to help the hard working students at Lethbridge college. I was a little shocked when the mob showed up at my door to present the cheese, never really expected to win but it could not have come at a better time and will be put to good use!

What a great surprise! Making monthly contributions to the scholarship program to help the students is important to me. To actually win the 50/50 is a wonderful bonus! My win is also well-timed to pay for two classes I'm taking through Athabasca University this spring! Thanks so much, Alumni Office and Lethbridge College!

I appreciated your visit this afternoon and I am very pleased to have won the February 50/50 scholarship draw. As a long time manger of a large student scholarship fund for the Prairie Baseball Academy, I am very aware of the difference that scholarships make in the life of our college students. The payday 50/50 is a great initiative, and my winning this prize will allow me to further support scholarships at Lethbridge College.

"What a delightful surprise to have a cheque for $1,530 presented to me by a group of singing Advancement staff.  I had been hoping that it would be my turn to win before I retire and my wish came true!  Thank You.

Both of my children have been recipients of post-secondary scholarships so I know firsthand how important they are and how much they are appreciated.  Payday 50/50 costs only $10/month and yet does so much to help students.  Students are our main priority and our reason for existing – support Payday 50/50 – it really is a win/win proposition."

"We all walk by this display and wonder what it would feel like to have our picture up here.  The thought of winning anything is appealing to most people, let alone the thought of some cold, hard cash.

Like most people, I have no trouble donating to worthwhile causes. But seeing the reaction of our own sons and their total appreciation of receiving scholarships is reason enough for me to want to participate in this campaign.  Any little way we can help students attain their goals is what we’re here for.

(There is also nothing like a surprise visit from the Advancement office notifying you of your win first thing on a Monday morning – nothing quite like it!)

But basically I want to participate in Pay-It Forward because I often see first-hand the successes of so many students who have attended and graduated from Lethbridge College.   I really do want to play my part and pay it forward – it’s all good!"
